Remember H2O |
Submitted by: |
| In the event of mass casualties, be sure your trauma/triage staging area is equipped with the proper amount of supplies, including large amounts of potable water. During the Beslan Terrorist Siege, hostages went without water for 3 days and at times drank their own urine. Even in a short-lived event, victims and hostages will suffer from thirst. Also remember that your first responders and special teams will be just as thirsty and in need of a water supply, as they are operating under extreme pressures, clearing buildings and evacuating and caring for victims. Never let your own people go down due to dehydration. |
