Hobbs Police Department (N.M.) Selects New World Systems for a Complete Public Safety Software Solution

Troy, Mich. — The Hobbs Police Department, N.M. has signed a contract to license New World Systems’ Aegis/MSP® Public Safety Solution on the Microsoft® platform to replace multiple aging software systems. New World’s integrated solutions will save time for Police Department personnel and provide officers in the field more access to critical public safety information.

In addition to improving efficiency, New World’s solutions will allow the Hobbs Police Department to easily share public safety information with the Lea County Sheriff’s Office, which also uses New World’s public safety software.

“Being able to share information with our County was important to us during our decision-making process,” said Pam Niemeyer, Technical Services Manager. “New World offered all of the modules we were looking for, and their software was the most user-friendly and robust system we reviewed.”

New World Systems will provide the Hobbs Police Department with Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management, Mobile Computing and Corrections software, developed in-house using proven Microsoft® technology, industry-standard Windows® Server and SQL® Server.

New World’s CAD, with embedded ESRI® ArcGIS® mapping technology, Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) and direct access to NCIC information, will help Hobbs dispatchers better respond to emergency calls. The new Mobile Computing and Field-Based Reporting software will allow Hobbs police officers to quickly access information and complete and submit field-based reports from their vehicles.

The Police Department will also be able to eliminate much of the paperwork they must handle each day with improved reporting capabilities and integration to common Microsoft® applications. Currently struggling with redundant data entry, the Police Department is looking forward to the seamless flow of data through New World’s applications.

“Because all of New World’s modules are integrated, data is only entered into the system once,” said Niemeyer. “This will eliminate a tremendous amount of repetitive work for our dispatchers, police officers and records personnel.”

New World’s solutions, services and support will help the Hobbs Police Department better serve a population of more than 35,000 residents and improve public safety communication with the Lea County Sheriff’s Office into the future.

New World Systems, a public sector software company in Troy, Michigan, has provided software solutions for public safety and public administration organizations since 1981.The Company designs, develops, markets, supports and implements the fully integrated Logos® Public Administration Suite for local governments and the Aegis® Public Safety Suite for Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS.  New World Systems has more than 600 customers comprised of more than 1,200 public sector agencies across the United States.
