As you remember these fallen officers, take comfort in recalling that they dedicated their lives to the same principles of honor, duty and courage that brought you to the badge. Such a life is truly rich. Take strength in knowing that when an officer falls, our resolve to serve those in need is not diminished. Our dedication to protecting those in danger is not weakened. Our commitment to remembering those with whom we shared the badge does not fade.

Officer Down: Detective Clinton Rice

Officer Down: Detective Clinton Rice - [St. Clair Shores, Michigan]

Age: Not available

Cause of Death: Automobile accident

Detective Clinton Rice was killed in an automobile accident on Jefferson Avenue in Harrison Township. His unmarked vehicle suddenly swerved into oncoming traffic and collided with an SUV.

A citizen who witnessed the crash performed CPR on Detective Rice, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Detective Rice had served with the St. Clair Shores Police Department for 17 years. He is survived by his wife and children.
